Artistic Roller Skates for Entry-Level Skating

Sure-Grip Fame Roller Skate | $160-$180

We put most of our entry-level skaters in the Fame skates. The boot is comfortable, offers better support than rentals, and the trucks offer some flexibility for edges. The only issue is the limited durability - these skates typically only last 3-6 months before they need to be upgraded for skates with better support.

Artistic Roller Skates for Entry-Level Competitive Skating

For us, “entry-level competitive skating” refers to the Rising Stars and C-level skating skills.

Boots:

Edea Motivo | $112

Edea Rondo | $130

Frames:

Roll-Line Variant M | $134

Roll-Line Variant C | $176

Wheels:

Komplex Bolero 63mm HD-40 white | $45

Roll-Line Panther 57mm 95A | $60

Total Cost Range: $291 - $366

Any of the options above are excellent set-ups for entry-level competitive skating that will provide sturdy support and great flexibility to perform edges, spins, and single jumps. These boots could easily last about a year or longer with entry-level skating wear and tear.

Artistic Roller Skates for Intermediate-Level Competitive Skating

By “intermediate-level competitive skating”, we mostly mean B-level and maybe some A-level skating skills in freestyle and dance.

Boots:

Edea Ritmo | $206

Frames:

Roll-Line Variant C | $176

Roll-Line Mistral | $282

Roll-Line Energy Steel | $328

Wheels:

Komplex Bolero 63mm HD-40 white | $45

Roll-Line Panther 57mm 95A | $60

Or a combination of Komplex Bolero 63mm wheels or combination of Roll-Line 57mm wheels

Total Cost Range: $427 - $594

Obviously, if you’re investing this much, it is with intentions to be a serious competitive skater with a lot of skating hours being put on the equipment. This type of setup will take you very far and will outlast the lesser options. The Ritmo boot is an excellent all-around choice for B-level freestyle and dance, though we’d recommend replacing the boot after about a year if there is much wear and tear weakening the ankle support.

As always, please consult with one of our coaches if you are interested in buying a pair of roller skates for artistic roller skating. We will work with you to ensure proper sizing and setup for your skating skill level and plans while working within your budget.
